MBIE Privacy Policy for Self Isolation on Zyte

MBIE is using Zyte to monitor compliance with the requirement to remain at your approved place of self-isolation during the Self-Isolation Pilot. MBIE’s security service provider will call you via Zyte and ask you to permit access to your smartphone’s camera to confirm your identity, and to permit access to your phone’s GPS location to confirm that you are within your agreed self-isolation location.

The information that is collected via Zyte may be disclosed to the New Zealand Police where there is a reasonable belief that you are not at your place of self-isolation when you are required to be. If you do not provide access to your camera or GPS location, you may breach the requirements of the self-isolation pilot, may commit an offence under the COVID-19 Public Health Response Act 2020, and may be transferred to an MIQ Facility.
